Symphonic Junction - 18 May - Tilburg - 013
What is there lest to say about Anneke van Giersbergen that hasn't already been said? She is a versatile and smart artist that knows how, and above all is able, to make herself comfortable in any kind of music. She has performed metal, rock, pop, trip hop, a pavane by Fauré and even Dido's lament from the opera Dido and Aeneas by Purcell. At last night's the Symphonic Juction she covered songs from all of the above genres rearranged and accompanied by the Residentie Orkest conducted by Arjan Tien. Highlight of the show: It's hard to choose when every second piece can be considered a highlight. But the rearranged version of Shores of India, which was saved for last concluded the show on a high note. P.S. Silly me didn't bring my camera with me, but luckily my new phone is capable of taking a few decent pictures.
