Theater Tour: Theaters on Fire - 16 Apr 2015 - Tilburg - Schouwburg

A full week after the live, and I don't know where to start from...

I've always held some respect for Within Temptation due to their Mother Earth album and the sensitivity with which they write their lyrics (bad lyrics just drive me nuts). So when my crazy friends decided to travel all the way to the Netherlands (from Greece and the UK) to see them perform live, I immediately joined.

But lets talk about the live... There was no support act which was good because they played  for a good hour plus, and staying true to the feeling of  a theater show, they had  short break halfway through. However, lets focus on the things that matter.

The concert was more of a show than a metal gig (and that feeling was amplified by Sharron's many costume changes). The stage consisted of 3 levels. On the top two video projections (through which they did their duet songs), in the middle piano, drums and bass, and on the lowest level guitars and vocals. There were a live cello and violin on stage which worked well considering the kind of orchestration Within Temptation's song have. BUT (and I am sad to say this) Sharron's voice was a disappointment. She sounded sick and in pain and for that reason her vocal range was very limited. Hopefully she is better now. The musicians however played amazingly well, proving that Within Temptation is an experienced band worthy of the fame they have.

Highlight of she show: The way the band played together.

Highlight according to my friend Stef: Ice Queen, which was turned into a duet when Sharron pulled young Luuk form the crowd.
